چکیده

Calcaneum, the most common tarsal bone to fracture affecting manual labourers who were sole breadwinners of family. Generally treated with below knee pop and ORIF, commonly associated complications delayed weight bearing. This study analyses functional outcome early bearing minimally invasive skeletal stabilisation calcaneal fractures. was conducted at Institute orthopaedics traumatology, Coimbatore medical college Meenakshi hospital research institute, Kanchipuram between July 2019 October 2021. 15 patients in age group 20-65 years 19 fractures less than 4 weeks duration are included study. Surgery averaged 1.6 days after injury. Full weight-bearing achieved 11.7 for unilateral (range 9 days) 43.5 bilateral (40 49 days). Patients returned work 35.6 on average 24 52 All healed 52.63 days. External fixator removal 56.57 Two had postoperative pin site infections. No bones infected. Six-month AOFAS scores 86.15. In our fixed mini external percutaneously it can be used presence compound skin blisters. Though anatomical reduction cannot attained completely is possible from 2nd day surgery full week. The limitations include a smaller number cases. A large multi-centric may necessary confirm results.

Management of calcaneal fractures using the Ilizarov external fixator.

Twenty five intra-articular fractures of the calcaneus in 25 patients were reduced through a minimal incision and fixed with an Ilizarov external fixator. The average age of patients was 38.6 years (range: 17 to 62 years). According to the Sanders CT classification, 10 (40%) were type II, 9 (36%) type III, and 6 (24%) type IV. The average follow-up was 30 months (range: 24-40 months). According...

Early Weight Bearing of Calcaneal Fractures Treated by Intraoperative 3D-Fluoroscopy and Locked-Screw Plate Fixation

Operative therapy of intraarticular fractures of the calcaneus is an established surgical standard. The aim is an accurate reduction of the fracture with reconstruction of Boehler's angle, length, axis and subtalar joint surface. Intraoperative 3D-fluoroscopy with the Siremobil Iso-C 3D(R) mobile C-arm system is a valuable assistant for accurate reconstruction of these anatomical structures. Re...

Calcaneal fractures: indirect reduction and external fixation.

BACKGROUND The current treatment of displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures has been surgical fixation. The objective of this study was to evaluate the use of indirect reduction with Ilizarov external fixation as a viable alternative in the surgical treatment of certain calcaneal fractures. METHODS Thirty-one patients with 33 fractures of the calcaneus (Sanders types II, III, and IV) we...

Successful treatment of bilateral open calcaneal fractures with concomitant lower extremity injuries: A case report

Open calcaneal fractures are high morbidity injuries and the risk of complications depends on the concomitant injuries, on the size and the position of the traumatic wound. A 53-year-old male patient with bilateral open calcaneal fractures and associated concomitant lower extremity injuries such as subtalar dislocation, talonavicular dislocation and open distal tibial metaphyseal fracture was i...
